LTC entitlements of unmarried Government servants – Conversion of Home Town LTC facility into travel to different parts of the country permissible under the special dispensation scheme





Dopt issued clarification orders on the subject of conversion of home town LTC facility as follows





facility of conversion of Home Town LTC to allow travel to different parts of the country, under the special dispensation scheme, will also apply to an unmarried Central Government servant, who is eligible to avail the benefit of LTC to visit Home Town every year. This facility may be availed by converting one occasion of Home Town LTC out of the four Home Town LTC occasions available in a block of four years.

LTC 80 Scheme – Air India Domestic Fare effective from 2.2.2015 for Central Govt Employees





A another revised list of LTC 80 Fare with effect from 2nd February 2015 is released by Air India (Last updated on 3.11.2014).





Already Dopt issued orders for relaxation to travel by air to visit Jammu & Kashmir, NER and Andaman Nicobar Islands on 26.9.2014. An additional Tourist destination has been granted to visit for central government employees in this order. Through this LTC relaxation they can now travel to Port Blair by Air from Kolkata/ Chennai/ Bhubaneswar if they are not entitled to travel by air. Government servants entitled to travel by air can avail this LTC from their Headquarters in Economy class.

Central Government Employees’ LTC Likely to Cover Foreign Countries 





Leave Travel Concession for Central Government employees is likely to be extended to cover trips to foreign countries too. Although these are unconfirmed reports, we are sharing the news reports that have appeared in leading English newspapers recently. 





Traveling abroad is a dream for most Indian families. The Centre’s attempts to fulfill this dream are worth appreciating. Although initially the scheme covers only four countries (Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka), traveling to a foreign country, with the expenses paid by the Government, is no small accomplishment. Traveling abroad with the entire family is bound to elevate the social status of the employee among his friends and relatives.

Relaxation to travel by private airlines to visit J&K – Dopt orders on 28.11.2014







Entitled and not entitled officers to travel by air may also travel by private airlines subject to the conditions laid in the previous orders.


(i) Officers entitled to travel by air may also travel by private airlines from their headquarters; 


(ii) Officers not entitled to travel by air may be permitted to travel by private airlines between Delhi /Amritsar and any place in J&K.

Air India Domestic Fare list updated with LTC Scheme – LTC Fare List Nov 2014





Journey by Air Travel while availing LTC, stipulating that the orders insisting to travel by Air India only.





Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ officers (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted) are entitled to travel by Air to NER on LTC. Other employees are entitled to travel by Air to NER from Guwahati or Kolkata airport only.





One more restriction of travel by Air India only need not apply to non-entitled employees who travel by air and claim LTC reimbursement by entitled class of rail.

Air Travel LTC to J&K, N.E.R and A&N extended by 2 Years





Leave Travel Concession to travel via air to Jammu & Kashmir, the North Eastern Regions and the Andaman and Nicobar islands has been extended for another two years for Central Government employees.





The LTC scheme, which is granted to Central Government employees and their family members, has now been extended up to September 2016. Click here for the detailed DOPT order.





DOPT has also released an order regarding LTC scheme for new recruits. Explanations have been given in the form of questions and answers. The order contains answers to 8 very important questions, explanations for them and 4 pictorial examples.





Foreign Tour for CG Employees, demanded by NC JCM Staff Side. Explore the possibility of allowing an employer to undertake tour outside India once in his life time in lieu of the LTC.
