Department of Health and Family Welfare issued lot of amendment orders from time to time(12.11.2014 & 10.02.2015, 24.02.2015, 12.05.2015 and 24.6.2015) regarding the empanelment of hospitals under CGHS. In continuation of this Department OM dated 1.10.2014, an additional list of hospitals (including dental clinics & eye centres) have also been empanelled under CGHS in Delhi & NCR w.e.f. 24.06.2015.

Subject: Revision of time limit for submission of final claims reimbursement of medical expenses under CS(MA) rules, 1944 – regarding.





The undersigned is directed to refer to OM No. F. 29-40/68-MA dated 15.10.1968 in which it was laid down that submission of final claims for reimbursement of medical expenses of Central Government servants in respect of a particular spell of illness should ordinarily be preferred within 3 months from the date of completion of treatment.

Subject: Withdrawal from the list of Diagnostic Labs and Imaging Centres empanelled under CGHS, Delhi.





With reference to the above mentioned subject it is stated that subsequent to the sting operation titled “Operation Jonk-2” aired by a TV channel on 7th May, 2015, prima facie it appears that following MRI centre which was empanelled under CGHS has indulged in unethical practices. Hence it has been decided to withdraw the empanelment of following centre from CGHS with immediate effect till further orders.

Emergency Facilities in CGHS Dispensaries



Emergency Facilities in CGHS Dispensaries





The CGHS dispensaries have all the medicines required in emergency. As per the CGHS guidelines, a provision is there to keep medicines available to counter any medical emergency that might arise within the Wellness Centre. There is an Emergency Tray available with the nursing staff which contains most of the medicines required under emergency situation. The availability of the medicines with their valid date of expiry in this Emergency Tray is checked on a regular basis and also during surprise checks.

CGHS beneficiaries in the country as on date are 36,67,795



CGHS has empanelled 750 Health Care Organizations all over the country





While answering to a unstarred question No.695 in Lok Sabha on 27th Feb 2015, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri.Jagat Prakash Nadda said there is no CGHS rates for implant then that implant is reimbursed as per AIIMS/GB Pant Hospital rates. However, if a benefi- ciary opts for a specific brand of implant, he/she shall have to give a written under- taking to bear the difference between the cost of that specific brand and the pres- cribed ceiling rate.

In continuation of this Directorate’s Office Memorandum of even no. dated 01.10.2014 on the above mentioned subject, the undersigned is directed to convey that in addition to the list of the hospitals (including dental clinics & eye centres) and diagnostic laboratories already empanelled, the hospitals (including dental clinics & eye centres) and diagnostic laboratories as per the list attached have also been empanelled under CGHS in Delhi & NCR. The newly empanelled hospitals (including dental clinics & eye centres) and diagnostic laboratories may be treated as included in the existing list with same terms and conditions as have been indicated in the Office Memorandum dated 01.10.2014.

Treatment under medical emergency: No referral is required and beneficiary can directly go to any private empanelled hospital for availing treatment.





II. Elective treatment at Empanelled hospitals in Delhi/NCR :





(i) CGHS/Government Specialist advises specific treatment procedure required. Permission letter has to be obtained from CGHS Wellness centre / Addl. Director of CGHS in case of pensioners, ex- MPs , etc., and from the department in case of serving employees for undergoing the treatment at any of the CGHS empanelled hospitals of his / her choice.

Accreditation Certificate for Clinical Laboratories





Health is a State subject. Accreditation of clinical laboratories is undertaken by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) under the Department of Science and Technology. The compliance of requirements under ISO 15189 is used as the criteria for such accreditation by the NABL.





Accreditation of hospitals/laboratories provides a sense of assurance about the availability of quality healthcare service from the accredited institutions.

All India CGHS Employees Association had a meeting with the 7th Pay Commission on 8th November 2014. During this meeting the delegation led by Shri Francis Ellis Secretary General raised the common issues of Administrative Staff viz. Upgradation of Grade pay of LDC to Rs 2800, Granting of MACP on Promotional Hierarchy etc.
