Despite the fact that some time is needed for implementing the various promises that his party had made during the Parliamentary elections, questions are also being raised as to why there is such a long delay.

“Prime Minister declared once again that OROP is a finalized issue.”





News continues to surface regarding the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, which is eagerly being awaited by lakhs of ex-servicemen and their families all over the country.





For more than thirty years now, the Central Government continues to struggle to implement the OROP scheme. There were rumours that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might make announcements regarding this at the first year celebrations rally that was held in Mathura. But, nothing happened.

Enhancing Military Capabilities is the Top Priority– Manohar Parrikar





The Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar has said that his top priority is to enhance military capabilities of the country with due focus on modernization of the armed forces. Inaugurating a two-day Controllers’ Conference of Defence Accounts Department, here today, he said, high serviceability levels of equipment and weapon systems and high morale of soldiers is also necessary which is possible with an effective and optimum resource utilisation.

IESM has been getting calls from veterans who wanted to know the correct position of OROP. Veterans are very confused about the various mails floating on the net giving different status of OROP.





IESM sought an appointment with RM to learn the real situation from RM himself. IESM delegation consisting of four members Maj Gen Satbir Singh, Maj Gen AJB Jaini, Gp Capt VK Gandhi and Hony Lt K Pandey met Sh Manohar Parikkar at 1300h on 14 Apr 15.

Much to the relief of nearly 25 lakh ex-servicemen, including 12 lakh soldiers who are protecting this sovereign nation, the final decision on the One Rank One Pension demand will be announced in a month or two.
