No Curtailing of Public Holidays





As per the existing policy, the Central Government Administrative Offices observe up to 17 holidays in a year on specified occasions which consist of 3 National Holidays (on 26th January, 15th August and 2nd October) and 14 other holidays to celebrate festivals of different regions/religion in a diverse country like India.

Newspaper article in Times of India today i.e., 15th December, 2014 gives a distorted impression that schools have been asked to remain open on 25th December.





2. This is to clarify that CBSE has not directed any school to remain open on 25th December. All schools will follow their vacation schedule including vacation/holiday on 25th December as specifically clarified by CBSE.

KVS has published the schedule for vacation and breaks in KV Schools for the academic session 2015-16.



Summer Vacation started from 3rd May 2015 and Winter break from 5.12.2014, accroding to the climate condition the schedule has been changed in KV Schools located in entire nation.

Public Holidays 2015 for Banks – Government Notification for Delhi, Daman&Diu, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, West Bengal etc..





Branches of banks working on Sundays observe their weekly-off on any other day of the week as decided by the Bank and notified to members of staff and public. Therefore, all Sundays will be working days for Sunday working branches, except those Sundays declared as holidays by the Central/ State Government/Union Territory for a specified festival/occasion in a particular year, under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
