Mc Donald's Samurai Burger

Another burger to add to my recommended BURGER LIST!

"Let your tastebuds bow down to the Samurai Burger. A formidable mix of juicy quarater pounder beef patty, dipped in sweet teriyaki, topped with special sauce, flanked with crunchy lettuce and golden toasted bun. It's simply a mouth-watering force!"

Mc Donald's new Samurai Burger was pretty good! I did not have much expectation of it, but it surprised me. I opened the burger box and saw a pretty decent size burger. When i took one bite, it was actually very delicious that a second and third bite was not vey far away. I liked the sauce that was drenched onto the burger pattt. Also, the burger patty was not dry and it was tender to my liking. For drinks, we had a choice of carbonated drink or a drink called Samurai Fizzy. I chose Samurai fizzy which was actually a mixture of ribena and sprite. It was good too!!

Price for samurai set:
Regular set: rm11.15 ( includes tax)
Large set: rm12.45

So should order large since the price difference isnt that big. Also, there is a spicy shaker powder for fries provided if you order the large set.

Try it... Its really good!

Kaw Kaw Burger (again) at Puchong Utama

Again, I went for Kaw Kaw burger with friends. The queue might be long, but it did not take very long for our orders to be served. We were so hungry before and so satisfied after devouring the juicy thick burger :) It was also great to catch up with friends whatmore on the eve of my birthday...

Kaw Kaw burger at Puchong Utama

Location address:
Kaw Kaw Burger Bakar, Lokas Makana Medan Selera, Jalan PU 13/1, Taman Puchong Utama, 47100 Puchong, Selangor (near a surau)

I very highly recommend this genormous burger bakar. It is located at a Medan Selera at Puchong Utama and it was totally fantastic.
Say goodbye to My Burger Lab . It is better than Abang Burn's Burger Bakar. Hands down, Kaw Kaw burger was amazing!

Its thick juicy barbequed beef burger was gastronomic. One patty was enough to fill my stomach. They do serve chicken patties too... It is located at a food court, so at least I could sit and order drinks while I wait for the burger to be served. The wait was not too long.

Price:
Single beef patty burger = approx RM10
Two beef patties + 1 chicken patty + cheese = RM18.50
Two beef patties burger (no cheese) = RM13.00
Add rm1.00 if you want cheese.

If you have not tried Burger Lab, you should! It is after all one of the best burgers found in KL and its freshly made. The burger's bun is also fantastic and no other burger buns can beat Burger Labs ones.

The downside to this place was location. Very limited parking spaces. You need to know how to side park la. I live in ampang, so Taman SEA isn't actually nearby.... I won't even go to that unfamiliar area if I didnt have someone else driving me there.

Uhm there was another downside. The shop is small. Limited seats. And just like waiting for Abang Burn's burger bakar, I do not recommend you to wear pretty clothes or go anywhere else after a visit to Burger Lab because your hair and clothes will stink. Their kitchen is open concept... Need better ventilation in my opinion.

By 5.30pm, the place was packed. The queue was so long. There were people everywhere. It was claustrophobic!!! There was also a sign outside the main door telling customers the waiting time
Was 30-45minutes.

We arrived at 5.10pm. Still had a decent place to sit. The wait was not too long. Maybe because we were playing a word game called Snatch.

Burgers came. Free flow of soda. Fries came. Very satisfying but did not really feel full enough xD
I had the 'say cheese burger' which was just cheeseburger. My bro has something burger with peanut butter which he found amazing. And i dont b the other burger since I wasnt the one
Placing the orders and the burger pics all look similar.

Its always best to go to Burger Lab with a friend or two. Advantages of going with friends:
1. If cannot find parking at least one person can go down and queue up first to order.
2. If one person dont know how to side park, maybe the other friend knows how to.
3. While you order, your other friend can go and save a seat for you.
4. The burgers can sometimes take awhile, so better to have someone to talk to or play games with while waiting. We brought this word game called Snatch to pass our time :)

Opening hours: 5pm till 10.30pm (tue - sunday)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn, Taman Dagang

I was initally looking for Kaw Kaw burger as I heard there was a another stall in Ampang besides the Wangsa Maju one. In the end, I stumbled upon Abang Burn Burger Bakar.

This stall is located in a Malay food court next to the Balai Polis Tmn Dagang and behind Galaxy Ampang. Burger bakar is like barbequed burgers. Hence, wearing your grubbiest clothes when buying the burger would have been best because while lining up to place your order, your clothes will 'absorb' the smell of the barbequeing burgers.

The queue was long, but not as long as the one at Wangsa Maju. Since I was not really hungry, I ordered a triple burger with cheese (rm21.50) to share with TF. Upon placing my order, I paid and was given a number. The person in charge told us to just sit and wait for our number to be called. While waiting, we ordered orange juice from a waiter. The Burger Bakar stall had a bell which rings everytime a burger is ready. I didn't know that till I collected my burger. No, there wasn't anyone calling numbers. I went there personally to ask if my burger was ready after waiting for quite awhile. Unfortunately, the orange juice never came. So, we left with just the burger.

Headed home to enjoy the burger and ayam golek which was sold opposite the burger stall. The food court felt unhygenic that it took away my appetite while I was sitting down there.

The burger was fabulously delicious. It wasnt too dry or too wet. That means its juicy and flavourful enough. One bite was never enough. Its definitely worth a second trip. The ayam golek was good too.

My cravings for a good, juicy beef burger is so strong right now that I started digging my fridge and eating whatever snacks that can curb my cravings for a burger!

Beef burgers at Chilli's was always my favourite because the huge portion served was always satisfying. But then, TF introduced me to Carl's Jr burger and I must admit, it was a better deal than Chilli's burgers. Then there was the German Deli burger at Ampang Jaya, which made me salivate looking at the pictures. But, the although the beef patties were huge, I didn't really enjoy the overpowering beef flavour it had. I'd like to believe that my distaste for strong smelling/tasting beef was because when I was much much younger, I was religiously told I was not allowed to eat beef. Hence, there was a time in standard 1 and 2 where I had to be that 'special' student to habitually inform the teacher that I can't eat beef during lunch breaks in school. Of course, its just my theory. I'm not 100% sure if that is tge reason. Standard 3 came and Hard Rock Cafe's beef burgers grew on me slowly. I started off only being able to swallow a quarter of the burger while my sister ate the rest of my burger wuth ease. Then, with many more visits to Hard Rock Cafe and Chilli's over the years, I finally manage to have a burger all to myself. Even now, if I were to be at a Western restaurant (eg: The Ship), and was given a choice between beef or lamb, my tastebuds will always choose lamb over beef. Its no wonder those Arabic lamb meals to me, are to die for.

Recently I tried this place called Burger Lab at Publika. They didn't have much choices on their menu. This was because they were not officially opened yet. It was by invitation only as they wanted people to try and give their opinions on the burger. The burgers were served at a shop called The Red Beanbag. I had their cheese beef burger which had really good beef patty. It came with french fries as I ordered the set meal and refillable soda. TF had mushroom burger(called ooey gooey) and he loved it much. For him to love a burger means it was really good as he is a beef food specialist. But, according to him, for the price paid for this burger, Carl's jr is still more worth it and satisfying.

Across from Burger Lab there was another burger place called Fat Boys. It looked good but I read a few blog reviews and some were not impressed by it. So, it sorts of delays my interest in trying that place.

My mum finally tried the much publicised Kaw Kaw burger. They now not only have a branche in Wangsa Maju, but they do have one at Taman Dagang. My mum went to the Taman Dagang one since it was opened by my ex-schoolmate. The wait was long, as expected. It costs rm8.50 for the burger. But, accordin to my mum, it was really good and worth it. Now that, I will try someday real soon!

Burger hopping: German Deli, Ampang Jaya

Sixth place: Chilli's Cheeseburger, KLCC/Midvalley

My bro told me about some really famous burgers around my area. I googled the burger places and we both started salivating just looking at the pictures...

So, i decided to go burger hopping to try all three places in one night. We wanted to go to OM burger first, but it was raining and that stall's business hours were from 8pm till 5am. It was only 7.30pm.

Thus, we headed to German Deli which was just a five minute drive from where OM burger was located.

German Deli was located behind a Petronas opposite ISKL. The deli has plenty of dining space. The first thing the waiter told us when he was giving us the menu was that we will have to wait 40minutes for our orders. Its probably because everything was cooked fresh annnnd there was omly one waiter. We were given one paper to check whatever we want. The thing tf and i did was send our oaper straight to the counter instead of waiting for the waiter to do it for us. That, i must say, was a smart move. The lady who placed her order to the waiter before us ended up being served her meal after we finished eating! And she got really angry....... So, self service is always faster xD

The deli specializes in burgers and hotdogs. We ordered their 500g Megathon beef burger(rn16.50) and foot lobg hot dog(rm16). If you like Carl's Jr burgers, its probably more worth it to head over ti German Deli as the price at the deli is cheaper and the burger is bigger.

Tf loved the beef burger. For someone who loves beef, i guess his opinion counts. I had half of the hotdog, which was juicy and good. I could only eat a quarter of the burger in the end and minus the bread. We also had mashed potato which i do not recommend. We also shared 1 liter of root beer. Their rootbeer didnt have much gas amd wasnt as sweet as the ones sold in A& W.

I was stuffed!

The next stop was Kaw Kaw Burger at Wangsa Maju. It was still raining. When we arrived, the queue at the burger stall was long! We opted not to wait and headed home instead. Im a tad bit glad we didnt try it coz i was really full.

Will contunue the burger hopping next weekend:)
