Sam Bailey - X- factor UK

If you have not heard her sing, you should!
It made me tear because it was amazing.

I had a new haircut yesterday. It cost 5 pounds only and the hairdresser was a pro!

New bruise

Another day, another bruise. This time the bruise is as long as my iphone. It happened when I was in Banana Republic in Westfield Mall. I was walking around and I did not notice the table next to me because it was quite low. The sharp edge of the table scraped my thigh. It also did not help that I was wearing a short dress. So it was direct contact onto my skin. Im bruised and it hurts and this is one of my biggest bruise. Im so clumsy.

Something new

Not a blinging necklace but an elegant one. I have a matching bracelet too! Pretty but the picture does not show the real white marbel effect it has.

Pret A Manger and Itsu

I love Pret A Manger and at Victoria Street, I found out they have one of the biggest Pret A Manger shop I have seen.

If you have not been to London, you need to know that there is Pret A Manger at almost every corner of London streets especially where the tourist attractions are situated.

The owners of Pret A Manger also recently opened Itsu, which is a Japanese restaurant.

Its concept is similar to Pret A Manger where dine in was more expensive than take-away and the 'products on shelf' concept was the same.

I personally enjoy dining in Pret A Manger and Itsu because everything from the sandwiches to the sushi and to the tables were always well arranged and organised. The floor is never filthy and the  staff make it a point to serve within 1 minute and clean the tables within that time too.

I have tried Itsu's salmon teriyaki and salmon sushi box.

Most of Itsu's fish range are salmon, either sashimi, sushi or  rolls. They also have tuna fish sushi and edamame. Recently, the bento boxes came out which was a variety like teriyaki chicken and others. I love edamame so I liked that they have meals which comes with a side of edamame. Besides cold food, they also serve hot food like duck hot pot and others. I would have tried the duck hot pot when I visited Itsu but unfortunately they do not serve duck on weekends. Itsu also have their own range of drinks. I tried their raspberry water. It tasted like water and cough medicine. Not my taste at all.

Best of all, with this concept, customers get to see the end products of the food before making their choice. Its better than looking at a list of menu with no pictures and trying to guess how the food will turn out.

On another note, while strolling around london I stumbled upon the house of the guy who made penicillin!
I know this because it was written on that blue round sign on its wall.
:):)

Oppressive

Current chess score winnings - 4 wins out of 6 games.

I was told I am oppressive when I play chess.

He says, "You are the most oppressive person I have ever played with in my life."

I laughed so hard.

I think I should let him win the next few rounds just to stroke his ego ;)

Chess

This small magnetic chess set Which I carried around with me from Malaysia was finally used! The conversation on chess never really came up between my friends and I over the years in UK. Finally I met someone who loves playing chess as much as I do. Thanks to Chipsmore for the very portable chess set. I'm glad I had always carried it around with me :)

New haircut @ Toni & Guys Academy, New Oxford Street

Few months back I realised my hair was really long, which I liked, but there were too many obvious split ends. Hair cuts in UK aren't exactly cheap so I put off cutting my hair till now. Being in London, I suddenly recalled about my free hair cut in Toni and Guy Academy in Malaysia. So, I started googling 'free hair cuts' and there were a list of people looking for hair models to get free hair cuts and wash around London in Gumtree's website.

The haircut I did in Malaysia took four hours because it was a bob cut. This time, I was just looking forward to getting half of my hair chopped off just to be sure there will be no split ends.

I sent a couple of text to some students of Toni and Guy Academy who avertised on Gumtree. The first two were fully booked till late august! Luckily, one of the student introduced me to her friend who needed models.

It started off with the student explaining to her supervisor how she plans to cut my hair. It was something about angles and terms I have never heard of. I remember back in Malaysia, the supervisor drew on the mirror to show how to cut my hair.

After that, I had my free hair wash by the student. Then one hour of hair cut. My haircut gets assesed twice by the student's supervisor. Once when my hair was still wet and the second time when my hair has been blowed dry.

It was a pretty busy day for everyone at the academy. The haircut was alright :)

Make-up wonders

Now with so many apps available, it makes it easier to connect with people, even strangers. Artistic talents of random people are being showed off on those apps and fame was garnered because they are really good at what they do. One example is the art of putting make-up. On instagram, there are tons of people who show off their skills to put on eye shadows. It looks easy to do, but not really when I tried doing it myself lol.

Then, there are people who experiment with lipsticks. This post actually started after I saw someone make strawberry looking lip using lipstick.

So with the existence of all these apps, talents from make- up to cooking are not hidden anymore. Its an easier route to fame.

Smile

We all smile in the same language :)

Ooh at last the Blogger app has been updated and improved! Initially, I could only place all my pictures at the end of a post as seen in most of my previous posts. If it was not at the bottom of the page, it meant that I blogged using my laptop. But, I rarely turn on my laptop nowadays because the iphone is good enough to do almost everything.

Now I can also bold my word or italicise it :):) i love it! Im waiting till they have different colour fonts and font size too..

Did you notice that of late, most the app needed updating because theres so many improvements to it. Eg: Viber, Instagram, etc

Facebook app's update was a dissppointment though. It lags when I tried to open it. It lags and then it just closes and I have to click on the app a second time to finally get it to launch. Also, laoding time for everything takes longer! Soon, I will be ditching facebook.

Election 2013

I think I felt the passion of the Malaysian people much more than I ever did in previous elections. Not only the old, but the young were standing out too to fight for what they want. Isn't that what a democratic country is all about?

When I was in USA, my American friends were so passionate about the parties they wanted to vote for. They were so involved and knowledgable about political issues going on in their country while for me, I stayed away from politics just because politics is dirty everywhere. It did amaze me that american students in high school and colleges were holding conversations on politics and their opinions mattered. There were also plenty of American homes with American flags hoisted at the front of their houses the entire year, not just during Independence day or election time. How many Malaysian homes put up the Malaysia flag at any other times except Merdeka Day?

I never had interest in politics or election. Election every five years would just pass me by. I wouldnt even read the newspapers about what happened during the previous elections or the outcome of it. But, I guess because of technology -facebook and blogs- there has been so much input and opinions about the election, that its hard not to know at least the gist of what has happened. Its been long known that whatever has been written in our local newspapers were being controlled by the present gov. So, some facts may not be entirely correct. I know of people who have stopped buying newspapers just because of that.

All I am trying to say is that Eventhough I am far away, to be able to feel the vibe of what the people went through this time was encouraging and shows there is still a chance for change, just not this year.

Statistically, it was a pretty close fight.

One change I really want is to be known only as a Malaysian with equal rights, not chinese/indian/muslim Malaysians. I have had Scottish people asking me why We have to be so specific about our race when we were all born in the same country and hold the same colour passports. The People in Singapore are Singaporeans and in Indonesia are Indonesians. No further segregation needed. Also, opportunities should be based on knowledge and capabilities instead of racial quotas. Then, just maybe, more people will proudly hang the Malaysian flags outside their homes instead of the white-green flag or blue flag.

Necklace for chemist

This is the perfect gift for a science geek. It would be like a secret meaning to the people who know the structure and use of it, while other people won't even take a second look at it :)
I'm no geek, but I kind of love it ❤

Cheap rubberbands

Heres to buying cheap rubberbands. It was like playing a lucky draw. It came with plenty of colourful rubberbands. Everytime
i took one out to tie my hair, it snapped. Seriously, It didnt even reach my hair yet and it snapped.

Today I had two more left in the packet. I tried my best to be as gentle as possible with it. The first one snapped. So, I had one more left. Guess what.... It broke too....

Conclusion: NONE survived under my touch. Feels like some kind of super strong woman :p

Travel to lose weight

I lost so much weight after travelling thanks to all the walking and we also skipped lunch most of the time as we always had late breakfast. Now I am back in Glasgow, my lifestyle is back to less walking, less burning of calories. Couldnt be bothered buying new smaller size jeans as I might just gain back the weight XD

Colgate optic white ad

I noticed a new advertisement on my blog by Colgate. They have a new packaging for their toothpaste, I noticed. It actually looks more pro and stylish, like SK2's packaging. I am so used to Colgate's white packaging, I feel like I will need to get used to grabbing something red now. Isn't toothpaste white in colour, that is why the packaging is white? Lol

I have not clicked on the advert to see it. I am not allowed to click on my own adverts actually. So, I will need to google or click on someone elses blog.

Do I really care what toothpaste I use? Not really. The first thing I do is look at the price.
